Just as the anime adaptation is set to begin in January 2022, Aya Kanno’s Requiem of the Rose King manga is preparing to end. The official Twitter account revealed these plans on Wednesday, specifying that the series has just four chapters left, including the installment that debuted on that same day in the pages of Monthly Princess magazine’s November issue.

Based on Shakespeare’s Richard III, the Requiem of the Rose King manga has also inspired a novel adaptation. Yo Makusu is writing the novel, which is scheduled to ship in Japan on December 15.

VIZ Media releases the manga in English and sums up the story:

Richard’s father, the patriarch of the House of York, is poised to become king of medieval England during the bloody Wars of the Roses. But just as success is imminent, he is abruptly cut down. Plunged into despair, Richard acts out in revenge and must face a powerful and beautiful new enemy.

There are currently 15 collected volumes out in Japan, with the 16th to ship on December 16. Next up for the English release is volume 14 on October 12.
