baki hanma season 2

A second season was announced for the Baki Hanma anime over a year ago, and now we finally have more info on its launch plans. The adaptation of Keisuke Itagaki’s long-running martial arts saga Baki will make its way back to Netflix with the Tale of Pickle & The Pickle War Saga on July 26, followed by The Father VS Son Saga on August 24.

Cast additions include Takeshi Kusao as Jurassic-era fighter Pickle and Nobuo Tobita as Dr. Albert Payne, the man who revived him. Wagakki Band will perform the new opening theme for Baki Hanma season 2, “The Beast,” and UPSTART—consisting of Da-iCE / Natural Lag vocalist Sota Hanamura and YouTuber Hikaru—will perform ending theme “WILDER.”

Netflix previously streamed all 12 episodes of the first Baki Hanma season, describing the series like so:

The story finally unfolds into a full-blooded clash between Baki Hanma and his father, Yujiro Hanma, who is known as the “strongest creature on earth.” The climax of the Baki universe, which depicted the “strongest parent-child brawl in history of the world” in the original manga, has been adapted into the long-awaited anime!
