These live-action adaptations just don’t stop coming, man. Today we’re reporting on not one but two live-action versions of classic anime, this one being the classic anime: Astro Boy, also known as Tetsuwan Atom.
The film will be produced by Animal Logic Entertainment (Happy Feet) and Tezuka Productions.
The project is still in its early stages, with Animal Logic on the hunt for writers.
Astro Boy, the classic Osamu Tezuka manga and anime that basically set the rules for how anime would be produced for decades to come, was adapted as a CG feature back in 2009.
“We’ve seen him as a manga, an anime and an animated movie but we’ve never seen him as a live-action movie or him as a superhero. We actually see him in the same league as an Iron Man,” Hollywood Reporter quoted Animal Logic producer Zareh Nalbandian as saying.
Okie dokie.
