Japan is known both for its ancient culture and its mastery of all things hi-tech, so why not put shuriken machines in arcades and call them Ninja Trainer Arcades?
It’s the brainchild of dart-making company DARTSLIVE and none other than Sega. According to SoraNews24, the game makes its debut today, September 1, and you can find it at the Sega Akihabara Building 5 arcade in Tokyo, but soon it will be available throughout the country.
You can get shuriken from the arcade on loan or for purchase. While these are not real shuriken and shouldn’t hurt you, they will stick in the board and you can play various games. Jinichi Kawakami, a member of the Japan Ninja Council, sang his praises of the arcade shuriken: “The shuriken has the proper feel as they hit the target, and are made with safety considerations in mind, so they are perhaps the optimal equipment for those starting down the path of the shinobi.”
