World Trigger Manga Takes Month Off Due to Author’s Sudden Illness

Readers of the World Trigger manga are going to have to wait for the next chapters, because author Daisuke Ashihara is taking some time off to recuperate. According to the official Twitter account for Jump SQ. magazine, the series won’t be in the November issue—which hits stands in Japan on October 4—due to his “sudden illness.”

As Ashihara’s accompanying letter explains, the illness is specifically related to his head and neck being in poor health. The World Trigger manga is currently scheduled to resume in the December issue of Jump SQ., which launches in Japan in November.

VIZ Media handles the simulpub of the series, which it describes below:

Earth is under constant threat from Neighbors, invincible monsters from another dimension that destroy our way of life. At least we have the elite warriors of Border, who co-opt alien technology to fight back!

Our hero Osamu Mikumo may not be the best agent, but he’ll do whatever it takes to defend life on Earth as we know it.

When Osamu meets a feisty humanoid Neighbor named Yuma, everything that he thinks is right is turned on its head. Can the two natural enemies ever become friends?
