Another hiatus is here for Daisuke Ashihara’s World Trigger manga, and unfortunately it’s due to the author’s current condition. According to the announcement made via the official Twitter account, the manga will take a month-long break starting with the August issue of Shueisha’s Jump SQ. magazine because of Ashihara’s poor physical health.

The World Trigger manga will return in the September issue on August 4.

The World Trigger manga first launched in Weekly Shonen Jump back in 2013 before moving to Jump SQ. in 2018. The series has been on multiple health-related hiatuses over the years, and the 24th volume just hit shelves in Japan in December.

Crunchyroll streams the World Trigger anime adaptation and sums up the story:

One day, a gate to another world opened in Mikado City. Invaders from another dimension, referred to thereafter as Neighbors, overran the area around the gate, leaving the city gripped by fear. However, a mysterious group suddenly appeared and repelled the Neighbors. This Border Defense Agency independently researches Neighbor technology and fights to protect this world. In a short time, they managed to build an enormous base and prepare a defensive system against the Neighbors. it’s been four years since then.
