Netflix has announced it’s producing five more anime: The Way of the Househusband, Thermae Romae Novae, Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan, High-Rise Invasion, and Rilakkuma’s Theme Park Adventure.
The Way of the Househusband, which is getting a live-action adaptation in Japan, is being directed by Chiaki Kon (Sailor Moon Crystal) and produced by J.C.STAFF.
Thermae Romae Novae, from the manga Thermae Romae, will include new stories from mangaka Mari Yamazaki and will be produced by NAZ.
Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan is being directed by Toshiyuki Kato (from various manifestations of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) and is about JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable’s Kishibe Rohan.
High-Rise Invasion is a survival story with Masahiro Takata (Ai Tenchi Muyo!) directing and ZERO-G in charge of animation production.
Rilakkuma’s Theme Park Adventure is stop motion animation and is being directed by Masahito Kobayashi (Rilakkuma and Kaoru) and produced by dwarf studios, TYO Inc. and San-X Co.
“We are excited now more than ever to challenge ourselves to expand our aspirational anime programming for fans around the world,” said Netflix’s chief producer of anime, Taiki Sakurai.
