Tokyo Student Thrown Out of Test For Not Wearing Mask Right

Students in Tokyo taking standardized university entrance exams this past weekend were under strict guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID. All were required to wear masks, unless they had a medical reason not to do so, in which case they’d be placed safely in a different room. Social distancing and well-ventilated rooms were also a must.

One student kept tugging their mask down under their nose, regardless of being told on seven different occasions not to do so, since the nose is a big spreader of COVID.

After being warned seven times, the student was disqualified from the test taking. All students had been warned beforehand that in order to be allowed to take the test, masks had to be put on properly. The story has become something of a viral sensation in Japan, where the country has expanded its state of emergency as COVID cases climb.
