If you’ve seen the anime adaptation of Nozomi Uda’s Tanaka-kun is Always Listless manga, you know of its many unique charms. Uda’s series is truly something special, and it’s about to end its run according to Square Enix’s Gangan Online website.
The site went up with the announcement on Thursday, revealing plans for the manga to end with the next installment, chapter 140, which launches on July 25.
Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge first debuted on Gangan Online back in 2013, and its 13th collected volume is set to launch alongside an official fanbook in Japan on September 12.
Sentai Filmworks licensed the series and Crunchyroll streamed it as it aired. Here’s how the latter describes it:
Adapted from the popular web manga series published by Square Enix, this unconventional, surrealist comedy follows an exhausted high school boy who, despite multiple attempts from his friends, still manages to spectacularly… sleep. Much to the chagrin of the energetic (at times bossy) Ohta, Tanaka is often found in a blissful state of lethargy, possessing the ability to doze off in any situation, especially in mid-sentence!
