Reiwa no Di Gi Charat “Mini Anime” Airs in October

Reiwa no Di Gi Charat “Mini Anime” Airs in OctoberVeteran anime fans (read: old timers like me) will likely have fond memories of Di Gi Charat, a manga and anime series from back in the late ‘90s.

Now Di Gi Charat is back in action with Reiwa no Di Gi Charat, a “mini anime” set to air starting this October.

Over the weekend, a set of key art and the creditless opening for the series were revealed. The opening theme song is called “Aimaisa, Kōfukuron” and it’s by Masami Okui.

The original series centers around a catgirl who lives in a store called Gamers, a video game/anime hobby shop in Japan (which really exists).

The new series is helmed by Hiroaki Sakurai, who also directed the original. Original voice actor Asami Sanada is also back in the lead role.
