Gundam Wing

Are you ready to accept that Gundam Wing is now 30 years old? The series premiered in 1995, and Bandai Namco Filmworks announced some of the celebratory plans during a San Diego Comic-Con panel this week. Chief among them are a new video, anniversary art and even a theatrical re-release of Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz in the United States and Japan.

You can see the 30th anniversary art above and check out the new video—featuring classic and new footage and the music of TWO-MIX—below along with more anniversary info.

There’s also a new manga on the way, featuring the work of Gundam Wing illustrator Sakura Asagi and writer Katsuyuki Sumisawa. MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM WING 0.5 POINT HALF PREVERNTER-7 “bridges the gap between Endless Waltz and Frozen Teardrop,” and you can read the first chapter in English right now.

As for the aforementioned screening, more info is on the way.

Crunchyroll streams the Gundam Wing anime and describes the story like so:

The Revolution Has Begun!

Mankind has moved into space. Thousands of people live on giant orbiting space colonies called “Sides.” However, the Earth Government, which rules the colonies, is unjust and cruel. A group of revolutionaries builds five robotic weapons called Gundams and plans to send them to Earth to begin their fight for independence.

Piloted by five young men, these Gundams carry the hopes and dreams of freedom of the colonists with them as they descend to Earth to begin Operation Meteor!
