Finish Your Halloween Costume Fast as These Anime Characters

Need a fast Halloween costume? Throw these together!

The spookiest night of the year is almost here. Are you prepared? No? No worries. We’ve got some fast, cheap, and simple Halloween costume ideas. Best of all? They’re all anime-related!

At the absolute most, you might need a quick run to the thrift store, and maybe the drugstore for some hair gel. If you’re lucky, you can assemble these outfits right out of your closet. Best of all? No uncomfortable masks or props to harsh your vibe while you’re trying to party!

Shinji Ikari

All you need for this Halloween costume is a white button-down shirt, a dark T-shirt, and dark trousers. Add a Walkman if you’re feeling especially fancy. This Neon Genesis Evangelion star has been through a lot. And sure, he has some fancier looks you could do given time. Like his plug suit. But you don’t have time. You have a party to get to. That’s why you’re here with us, going through your T-shirts for an anime boy costume.

If you have lighter hair, you could go as Kaworu instead. Bonus points if there’s a piano at the party and you can place. If the other guests are worthy of your grace, that is.

Death Note Halloween costume feels especially right this year, given The Simpsons went there recently. There are lots of fun outfits in the show… but all you need is a white shirt and a pair of jeans to play the world’s greatest detective. Oh, and maybe some eyeliner and hair gel.

L is also a great choice for parties. You can dig in to all the desserts and sweets, and write it off as being “in character.” Of course, your success with this outfit rides on the body language. Get that sitting posture right, and bam: everyone will know what you’re going for.

Heero Yuy

Everyone’s talking about Gundam again, so why not take a cue for your Halloween costume? Grab a green tank, some black bike shorts, and a pair of hiking boots. Bam: instant Heero Yuy! This is another one where hair gel could come in handy.

If your buddies are behind on their plans, they could join in for a Gundam Wing group! Most of the main five are pretty straight forward, with Duo Maxwell’s long braid and priest getup likely being the most complex. Know someone who wears a lot of turtlenecks? Someone else who wears a lot of vests? Your group is already on its way.

Got that Halloween spirit? Give these scary anime a try.
