The final season of the Fruits Basket anime may be over, but at least we have the special prequel, Fruits Basket -prelude-, to look forward to in the new year. The story that follows Tohru’s parents, Kyoko and Katsuya Honda, will premiere theatrically in Japan on February 18, 2022, and now we have some fresh theme song info and character visuals for the leads.

The theme song will be “Niji to Kaito” (“Rainbow and Kite”), performed by singer-songwriter Ohashi Trio.

Here’s a look at Kyoko Honda, voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro (Fujiko Mine in Lupin the THIRD):

And Katsuya Honda, voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya (Reiner Braun in Attack on Titan):

Fruits Basket -prelude- will premiere alongside a series digest and sequel story, and the Blu-ray collection launches in theater shops on the same day in Japan. In the meantime, you can catch all of Fruits Basket via Funimation and Crunchyroll, the latter of which describes it like so:

Tohru Honda thought her life was headed for misfortune when a family tragedy left her living in a tent. When her small home is discovered by the mysterious Soma clan, she suddenly finds herself living with Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure Soma. But she quickly learns their family has a bizarre secret of their own: when hugged by the opposite sex, they turn into the animals of the Zodiac!
