Writer Riichiro Inagaki and illustrator Yusuke Murata’s Eyeshield 21 football manga has been celebrating its 21st anniversary lately, and the ultimate means of doing so just arrived. A special 55-page one-shot manga chapter made its way into the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump in the latest issue, continuing the story and moving Sena Kobayakawa and his squad into the world of college football.

Yusuke Murata worked on an awesome promo to celebrate the anniversary at his production house Village Studio. Here’s the finished version:

The Eyeshield 21 manga ran in the pages of Jump from 2002 to 2009, inspiring a TV anime adaptation that aired from 2005 to 2008. Crunchyroll streams the anime and describes it like so:

Since he was a child, Sena had been bullied into running errands which has given him superb speed which the American football team captain wants as part of “Eye Shield 21…Lightning Speed”.
