The Dropkick on My Devil! anime has done a great job of raising support from fans all over the country thanks to the hometown tax system, which lets taxpayers who live in urban areas contribute to rural areas in exchange for local products. Following a successful campaign in Chitose City that resulted in the production of the “Chapter Chitose” episode, the Hokkaido cities of Kushiro, Obihiro, and Furano launched campaigns of their own, and Furano is the latest of these to reach its goal.
Since Furano hit its goal of 38 million yen (about US$332,767), the “Chapter Furano” episode officially has the green light. Located in the center of Hokkaido, the city of 20,675 is known for its lavender fields, so the accompanying tax campaign visual pictured above is appropriately adorned.
“Chapter Kushiro” and “Chapter Obihiro” are already in the works after those cities raised their respective funds in February 2021 and June 2021. While we wait for more on these, look for the third season, Dropkick on My Devil!! X, to debut in 2022.
