Fruits Basket -prelude- Is Coming to American, Canadian and UK Theaters

The anime movie Fruits Basket -prelude- is coming to theaters in America, Canada and the United Kingdom! Crunchyroll has received the rights to get the film on the big screen in these countries, and in America and Canada it will offer both dubbed and subbed experiences. In the United Kingdom, they will play the dubbed version in theaters. Two trailers were also released for this announcement, one with the Japanese actors and one with the English dub actors.

This will be a limited release in theaters. In America and Canada, the movie will play on June 25, 28, and 29. Tickets become available on Friday, June 3. The movie will only play in the United Kingdom on July 20, and tickets there become available on June 24.

The English dub has a returning cast, some of whom you can hear in the trailer: Lydia Mackay plays Kyoko Honda, J. Michael Tatum plays Katsuya Honda, Laura Bailey plays Tohru Honda, and Jerry Jewell plays Kyo Soma. Looking to the Japanese cast, Miyuki Sawashiro plays Kyoko Honda, Yoshimasa Hosoya plays Katsuya Honda, Manaka Iwami plays Tohru Honda, and Yūma Uchida plays Kyo Soma.

Yoshihide Ibata, who was previously the 2019 Fruits Basket series director, came back to direct the movie. Meanwhile, Taku Kishimoto, who did series composition for the 2019 Fruits Basket anime, wrote the film’s screenplay. The movie has already been out in Japanese theaters.

Crunchyroll gave this description for the movie:
