A special promotional video has arrived for the stage play adaptation of Natsuki Takaya’s Fruits Basket manga. The production is currently running at Tokyo’s Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall until Sunday until March 13, and you can see how they adapted some of the key scenes in the video below.

Featuring Nobuhiro Mori as writer and executive producer and Tarou Hasegawa as director, the play’s cast includes Ayano-Christie Yoshida as Tohru Honda, Naoya Kitagawa as Yuki Sohma, Shouhei Hashimoto as Kyo Sohma, Shougo Tamura as Hatsuharu Sohma, Ruiti Koga as Momiji Sohma, Yuna Sekine as Kagura Sohma and Yuto Adachi as Ritsu Sohma, among others.

Takaya’s manga ran in the pages of Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine from 1998 to 2006, and all three seasons of the new anime adaptation streamed on Crunchyroll and Funimation as they aired. Here’s how Crunchyroll describes it:

Tohru Honda thought her life was headed for misfortune when a family tragedy left her living in a tent. When her small home is discovered by the mysterious Soma clan, she suddenly finds herself living with Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure Soma. But she quickly learns their family has a bizarre secret of their own: when hugged by the opposite sex, they turn into the animals of the Zodiac!
