Anime Expo 2021 Will Be “Anime Expo Lite” with Two Days of Streamed Content

The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation has announced that this year’s Anime Expo will be “Anime Expo Lite” and take place digitally on July 3-4.

This is Anime Expo’s thirtieth year. The event is supposed to include “exclusive streamed content” from industry partners VIZ Media, Right Stuf Anime, Bandai Namco Arts, Crunchyroll and more. Additional information on programming and the con will be released in the following weeks.

The Anime Expo Lite content will be available for rewatch (for ticket holders only) on July 5 -16. Additional programming will also become available then, though the convention hasn’t specified what it will be.

Tickets cost $5 (plus processing fees) and proceeds are being donated to Hate is a Virus commUNITY Action Fund.
