Believe it or not, Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day is 10 years old!
The series, which aired in 2011, is getting a special 10th anniversary screening at the Tokyo Anime Award Festival. The screening, which will take place March 13 in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, will be attended by director Tatsuyuki Nagai and character designer/animation director Masayoshi Tanaka. It’ll feature three episodes and a special talk between Nagai and Tanaka.
After airing in 2011, the series spawned both an animated and live-action film.
Can you believe Anohana is a decade old?!
Here’s how Aniplex of America describes the series:
Jinta Yadomi and his group of childhood friends had become estranged after a tragic incident split them apart. Now in their high school years, an unexpected surprise forces each of them to confront their guilt over what happened that day. They must overcome the burdens of their past, and come to terms with years of shame, hard feelings, and heartaches.
