It was only a matter of time, but the Demon Slayer film has made its way further toward the top of the Japanese box office rankings. Thanks to another week of showings, the Mugen Train feature is now sitting in the number two spot of all time, zipping its way past James Cameron’s smash hit Titanic.

Now, the only film that stands in the way of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train‘s total domination of Japan is Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away.

The grand total for Demon Slayer in Japan’s box office so far stands at ¥27,512,438,060 (about $264,816,846), making it the highest-grossing animated film of 2020, as well as putting it in sixth place at the worldwide box office for the year, right behind Sonic the Hedgehog.

In other record-breaking news, Demon Slayer also managed to surpass 20 million tickets sold, which puts it beyond the wild success of Pokémon: The Movie 2000.
