SSSSuper news for Toonami fans: the tokusatsu anime SSSS.Gridman is set to hit the programming block this January.
That word comes straight from the source, Toonami, which announced the news on its livestream.
SSSS.Gridman is, of course, the anime from Trigger and Tsuburaya based on the ‘90s live-action tokusatsu series Denko Chojin Gridman. It aired back in 2018, but is still really cool today. You can read our review of the series here.
Meanwhile, work continues on SSSS.Dynazenon, the anime followup to Gridman.
Here’s how Funimation describes SSSS.Gridman:
Yuta Hibiki can’t remember who he is, and now he’s seeing and hearing things that others don’t! A voice from an old computer tells him to remember his calling, and he sees a massive, unmoving creature in the distance. Nothing’s making sense—until the behemoth springs to life! Suddenly, Yuta is pulled into the digital world, reappearing in the real one as the colossal hero—Gridman!
