There’s good news for fans of the manga Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku. While the manga itself has ended after more than six years of publication (and after getting more than 12 million copies in circulation), it’s receiving a spinoff.
The spinoff will debut on digital manga service comic Pool, from pixiv. The original manga originally debuted on pixiv in 2014. Three short videos have been released to advertise the final volume of Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku.
Kodansha publishes Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku in America, and it gave this description of the original series:
“Narumi Momose has had it rough: every boyfriend she’s had dumped her once they found out she was an otaku, so she’s gone to great lengths to hide it. When a chance meeting at her new job with childhood friend, fellow otaku, and now coworker Hirotaka Nifuji almost gets her secret outed at work, she comes up with a plan to make sure he never speaks up. But he comes up with a counter-proposal: why doesn’t she just date him instead? In love, there are no save points.”
