No matter how much you love what you do, it’s important to recognize when your work is taking a toll on you. Voice actress Megumi Ogata recently came down with a fever, and while she tested negative for COVID-19 and the flu, she was diagnosed with overwork.
As a result, Ogata will take a brief hiatus, and plans to return to work after 2-3 days off. She apologized to her fans for the inconvenience, promising to return for her Precious Anime & Game Songs Festival crowdfunding campaign that’s scheduled to launch on Friday, December 3.
Back in April, Ogata underwent a successful surgery for a herniated disc.
Ogata is known for some major roles, including Shinji Ikari in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Haruka Tenou/Sailor Uranus in the Sailor Moon series, and her debut role of Kurama in Yu Yu Hakusho. One of her latest roles has her voicing the JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 anime film’s main protagonist, Yuta.
The aforementioned Precious Anime & Game Songs Festival crowdfunding campaign is for an event featuring artists behind the music of anime and games. If the campaign is a success, the festival is currently penciled in for March 27, 2022.
