Violet Evergarden Animator Shows Skills in Live Drawing Video

If you’ve seen Kyoto Animation’s Violet Evergarden anime, you know just how beautiful of a production it is. One of the staff members responsible for the adaptation is character designer and chief animation director Akiko Takase, and Kyoto Animation recently let this talent shine in the first in a series of live drawing videos.

In addition to working on the anime adaptation since the beginning, Takase is the illustrator for Kana Akatsuki’s original light novel series. Next up for Violet Evergarden is the feature film, which opens in Japan and around the world in January of 2020, but for now you can sit back and watch Takase at work below.
