Violet Evergarden: The Movie Receives Award from Kyoto Government

Three years ago the government of Kyoto, Japan started the Digital Amusement award, which is meant to honor young people in Kyoto and their creative works. This year’s grand prize, called the Kyoto Governor’s Award, goes to Violet Evergarden: The Movie from Kyoto Animation. Violet Evergarden: The Movie previously took home the award for best animated film at the Tokyo Anime Film Festival.

The ceremony will take place this Friday, March 12. Violet Evergarden: The Movie will have a limited theatrical run in America and Canada starting March 30.
