The first new Ghost in the Shell anime in a while, Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, is set to hit Netflix later this month.
To build up the hype, the ‘flix has teamed up with Twitter to Tachikoma-fy your feed.
For the next three months, using the tags #GhostInTheShellSAC_2045 or #tachikoma on Twitter will bring up a Tachikoma emoji. Tachikoma are, as Ghost fans know, the moving, talking supertanks that are a key part of Section 9’s activities.
Netflix also shared an image of the Tachikoma as seen in the new series.
Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 hits Netflix April 23. Here’s how the ‘flix describes it:
“Ghost in the Shell”, a landmark in near-future science fiction, brings together Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki as they present their vision of the year 2045 in Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. Led by full-body cyborg Motoko Kusanagi, Public Security Section 9 once again gets ready to face off against cybercrime.
