The Sanrio Summer Puro Festival occurs at Sanrio Puroland and mixes adorable Sanrio characters with traditional Japanese summer activities. The festival obviously didn’t happen last year because of COVID, but is scheduled to return this July 9. It will take place until August 31.
They’ll be a Bon Odori performance, with Sanrio characters involved in the ancient festival tradition. There will also be “Hello Kitty’s Pop’n Fancy Summer Festival,” which will allow you to hang out with Sanrio characters wearing traditional happi. Puro Summer Festival LIVE!!! will take place at night after the park technically closes, and involve Sanrio characters singing everything from rock to soul to hip hop.
There will also be plenty of souvenirs with special summer themes.
