Tatsunoko Production Releases 60th Anniversary Art with 60 Characters

Tatsunoko Production Releases 60th Anniversary Art with 60 CharactersThat’s pretty cool. Tatsunoko Production, the anime studio behind seriously famous properties like Gatchaman, Yatterman, Time Bokan and Mach GoGoGo (also known as Speed Racer), turns 60 years old next year.

It’s kicked off the year-long countdown with an illustration featuring 60 of its most famous characters all squished together, which reflects its long history.

Tatsunoko plans to plaster the artwork onto a variety of items for sale in its online shop. How many different items, you ask? 60, of course!

There are a ton of events planned for the year-long celebration, including a pop-up shop in Shibuya, manga featuring new takes on old properties, and rankings, everyone’s favorite.

Tatsunoko was founded in 1962. Its first anime production was Space Ace in 1965, followed by its first color anime, Mach GoGoGo, in 1967. Recent productions include The Price of Smiles and King of Prism.
