So You Finished Resident Evil Village – Now What?

All done with Tall Vampire Lady? Here's how to kill the post Resident Evil: Village time

You did it. You finished Resident Evil Village. You’ve met all the big bosses, collected all the jars, and caught up with Wide Chris Redfield again. So now what? It’s no a spoiler to say that another game is on the horizon. But what will you do until then?

The obvious answer is “play through again and get all the collectibles,” but humor us. Because if you’re looking for on-theme entertainment to comfort you after Those Things That Happened, we’ve got them.

Watch CLANNAD After Story for another good dad

CLANNAD After Story

Ethan may stand still and blurt things out when you’d rather he was sneaking away, but other than that we’re really fond of the Resident Evil Village hero. He’s endured a lot of hand trauma, for one thing. For another, he’s willing to go the paranormal extra mile for his daughter. If you want more of that, it’s time to (re)watch CLANNAD — specifically After Story.

The Key visual novel turned anime has a lot of side stories and twists and turns. In the mix is a surprisingly fantastical tale that seems to have nothing to do with the main story. But follow it long enough and it fits right in. If you know, you know; if you don’t, we’re not about to wreck the discovery for you.

Get Bloody with Vampire Hunter D

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust

Feeling deprived of pretty vampires in big hats since you finished Resident Evil Village? Vampire Hunter D is waiting to heal you.

Both the 1985 film and 2000’s Bloodlust are gorgeous to look at (thanks to character designs by Yoshitaka Amano) and will give you your fill of gritty, pretty vampire action. Bloodlust in particular has a big vampire castle… you know, just in case your tastes are very specific. There’s also a series in the works, if you’re feeling patient.

Get Hype for RESIDENT EVIL: Infinite Darkness

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness

Alternatively, you can jump right back down the Resident Evil rabbit hole with Netflix’s upcoming series. Swerving away from the setting of Resident Evil Village, Infinite Darkness takes us back to the game series’s fourth and fifth games.

The new story stars Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they investigate a hacking incident and (of course) a zombie attack. The CGI series drops on the streaming service early next month. Plus, there will be a graphic novel released alongside it.

We have no idea when the next Resident Evil will hit, and we’re all still guessing what it will be like. But there’s plenty of Resi, vampires, and family drama to keep you occupied in the meantime. Alternatively, you could replay Resident Evil Village with that one mod that makes Lady D’s hat keep getting bigger. Whatever brings you the most joy.
