Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle Anime Teased

sleepy princess in the demon castle

The anime adaptation of Kagiji Kumanomata’s Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle manga is scheduled to debut in Japan sometime this year, and we finally have a new tease for it. The anime is being directed by Mitsue Yamasaki (How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?), with Yoshiko Nakamura (The Helpful Fox Senko-san) on series composition at anime production house Doga Kobo.

Check out the brief teaser that introduces the voice behind Princess Syalis—Re:ZERO‘s Rem voice actress Inori Minase, to be exact—below.

Two more voice cast members have also been revealed: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Sword Art Online‘s Kirito) voices Maou Tasogare and Kaito Ishikawa (Haikyu!!‘s Tobio Kageyama) voices Akuma Shudoushi.

VIZ Media publishes the manga in English and describes it like so:

She decides to while away the hours by sleeping, but getting a good night’s rest turns out to be a lot of work! She begins by fashioning a DIY pillow out of the fur of her Teddy Demon guards and an “air mattress” from the magical Shield of the Wind. The princess’s hapless demonic guards soon discover that their captive expects to be treated like, well, a princess. Things go from bad to worse—for her captors—when some of Princess Syalis’s schemes end in her untimely—if temporary—demise and she chooses the Forbidden Grimoire for her bedtime reading…
