Singer Eir Aoi has been dealing with an ongoing health issue since the start of the year, and as a result her official website has announced a hiatus. According to the announcement, this will be a mid- to long-term break covering treatment and an appropriate period of recovery after.
Eir Aoi had events planned in January and February, but all of them have been canceled as of now. There’s currently no specific time frame for her return.
This isn’t the first time Aoi has taken an extended break since her musical career debut in 2011. She went on hiatus from November 2016 to spring 2018, announcing just prior that she would be suspending activities due to her poor health.
Aoi’s songs have served as themes for many anime, starting with her first single “Memoria” in 2011, which was featured as the Fate/Zero ending theme. Other anime themes include songs for Kill la Kill, Sword Art Online, Aldnoah.Zero, A Couple of Cuckoos and more.
We wish her a speedy recovery!
