The game Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku came out in Japan last year, and will become available globally later in 2021. But that’s not all that’s going on with this franchise! The “Project Sekai Anniversary Festa 2021″ event revealed that the game is getting an anime adaptation.
The news is disclosed a little more than two hours into the presentation. It’s in Japanese, but even if you don’t understand what they’re saying, you can hear how excited they are about it.
The anime will be titled Petit Seka and consist of 10 episodes. When it’s done, we’ll be able to watch it free of charge on YouTube.
All the musical units from the game will be included in the anime, but that doesn’t mean everything is going to be exactly the same. The anime has been described as “gag comedy,” but the game is not that genre. The characters will all have a chibified 2.5-heads-high look, also differentiating the two projects. Here’s a trailer for the original game:
In the game, songs are used to help people find their true feelings. It was created by Sega, Crypton Future Media, and Colorful Palette all working together.
And with this Hatsune Miku continues to expand her influence. There’s already been an announcement of a Hatsune Miku animated series being made by Crypton Future Media, Graphic India and Carlin West Agency, with webtoons and comics to follow. Miku has also gotten her own My Little Pony, and been busy working as an official fighter against the spread of COVID-19. The possibility of naming an airport after her has even been brought up.
