Hatsune Miku Is Now an Official Fighter Against COVID

hatsune miku

She can sing, she can entertain, and now she can help in the fight against the COVID spread. I’m talking about Hatsune Miku, who is now an official Coronavirus Countermeasure Supporter for the Japanese government’s Office for Novel Coronavirus Disease Control.

According to SoraNews24, she’ll have this job until March of next year, but it’s not exactly clear yet what her function will be. Odds are she’ll be involved with public service announcement videos and work on social media.

Japan has done multiple campaigns to teach people how to avert the spread of COVID, including what places and circumstances to avoid. Using Hatsune Miku could make a not-so-fun campaign about a not-so-fun topic feel more approachable and personable. And Hatsune Miku’s worldwide popularity means that the campaigns might be able to reach an international audience. It goes to show Hatsune Miku is a woman of many talents, even if she isn’t exactly real!
