Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always Special Brings Back Early Cast

Go, go Power Rangers! Members of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in days past are returning for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, which will be streamed on Netflix. A handful of early talents have been confirmed for the special: Walter Emanuel Jones and David Yost, the original Black Ranger and Blue Ranger, respectively; Catherine Sutherland, the second Pink Ranger; Steve Cardenas, the second Red Ranger; Karan Ashley, the second Yellow Ranger; and Johnny Yong Bosch, the second Black Ranger. Two voice actors are also returning: Barbara Goodson, who played Rita Repulsa, and Richard Horvitz, who played Alpha 5.

Here is a promotional video for the special.

Many people are probably wondering if other members of the original cast are going to be there, but so far these are the only names we have for a returning cast. We are told of one new cast member: Charlie Kersh will play Minh, Trini’s daughter. Thuy Trang, who played the original Yellow Ranger Trini, died in 2001, and this seems to be a way to pay homage to her. This might leave fans wondering if any homages will be paid to original Green Ranger Jason David Frank, who passed away in 2022.

“It was such a surreal experience to be on the set of Power Rangers again after 28 years,” said Jones to Entertainment Weekly. He also remarked, “Our Ranger family runs deep.”

“We went through the audition process together and launched the Power Rangers franchise,” Yost said about working with Jones again.

The special is described as having the Power Rangers come “face to face with a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs. Inspired by the legendary mantra from the franchise ‘Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger,’ Once & Always reminds everyone when you become a Ranger, you are always a part of the Ranger family and always welcome.”
