If you want the best idea yet of what to expect from the live-action take on SEGA’s Like a Dragon / Yakuza series of games, Amazon Prime unveiled a fantastic new trailer. Clocking in at nearly two minutes, the preview of Like a Dragon: Yakuza is full of drama and action, and you can see some of it ahead of the six-episode series’ October 24, 2024 premiere below.

Available worldwide, the Like a Dragon: Yakuza series will start with its first three episodes all at once. The second half of the series will follow a week after launch.

In 1995 and 2005, spanning across two time-periods, Like a Dragon: Yakuza, an original crime-suspense-action series, follows the life, childhood friends, and repercussions of the decisions of Kazuma Kiryu, a fearsome and peerless Yakuza warrior with a strong sense of justice, duty, and humanity.
The Yakuza series previously inspired a live-action film from director Takashi Miike. The new series certainly seems more promising than the planned Hollywood take on the material.
