Macross 7 Band Fire Bomber to Play First Solo Concerts in 13 YearsNice news for fans of the ‘90s classic Macross 7: the band Fire Bomber will perform its first solo live concerts in 13 years next February.

The band will appear at Toyosu Pit in Tokyo on February 21 and 22, 2025. The concerts are timed to celebrate Macross 7’s 30th anniversary, and are titled MACROSS 7 30th Anniv. FIRE BOMBER LIVE 2025 ~BURN! BURN! BURN!~.

The news was announced by Fire Bomber vocalist Basara Nekki (Yoshiki Fukuyama) yesterday, September 15, at a concert at KT Zepp Yokohama.

Also announced was a new single commemorating the 30th anniversary called “BURN! BURN! BURN!” with a jacket designed by none other than Haruhiko Mikimoto. Aside from the title track, it also contains Basara’s song “I am a ROCK” and Milene’s song “Regolith.” Perhaps most importantly, the single contains a serial code that allows buyers to apply for the lottery to get tickets for the February concerts. The single comes out October 30.

Macross 7 aired from 1994 to 1995. Here’s how Disney+ describes it:

A.D. 2045. The Seventh New Macross Class Ship, Macross 7, is on a colonization mission in deep space carrying one million people in its fleet. The rock band Fire Bomber and its vocalists, Basara and Mylene, the seventh daughter of Captain Max and Mayor Milia, are performing aboard the main residential spacecraft, City 7, when unknown enemies attack the fleet. As the U.N. Military’s elite forces struggle in battle, Basara, the band’s lead singer and guitarist, joins the fray with his red Valkyrie. However, instead of opening fire, he attacks with his passionate singing, baffling both enemies and allies alike. The military soon learn the mysterious enemy are after Spiritia, the life energy of human beings. They also realize the key to winning this fight lies in the power of Basara’s singing.
