LUPIN ZERO Anime to Stream on HIDIVE This December

This weekend saw the reveal of LUPIN ZERO, a six-part streaming anime that aims to tell Lupin’s thieving origin story. The announcement was paired with news that the world premiere is set for Anime NYC in partnership with HIDIVE, and now the streaming service has been confirmed as the exclusive home of LUPIN ZERO.

LUPIN ZERO hits HIDIVE on Sunday, December 16, just about one month after the Anime NYC premiere on Friday, November 18. 

Daisuke Sato is lined up to direct LUPIN ZERO, with Ichirou Okouchi on series composition and Asami Taguchi handling character designs for the Telecom Animation Film and TMS Entertainment production. Music is by Yoshihide Otomo and the setting historical research falls to Seiichi Shirato.

Synopsis:

Lupin III, a bored junior high schooler in Tokyo, takes an interest in a young Daisuke Jigen, a mysterious and impressive marksman. Lupin III strikes up a conversation with Jigen at a nightclub, however during their talk, Jigen concludes that Lupin III is simply a privileged and naïve boy from a well-to-do family and doesn’t want anything to do with him. However, while helping the nightclub singer Yoko, who is being pursued by the yakuza, Jigen learns that Lupin III is a descendant of the legendary thief…
