Mamoru Hosoda’s new movie BELLE will become available for American audiences this winter when GKIDS releases it dubbed and subbed. In the meantime, the insert song “Kokoro no Soba ni” (translated as “Beside the Heart”) is available to listen to on YouTube. It’s sung by Belle’s voice actress, Kaho Nakamura.
The movie made its debut at the Cannes Film Festival, where it received a 14-minute standing ovation. It has also come out in Japan, where it placed number one in the box office. Despite COVID, it had a successful opening that earned more than Hosoda’s movie The Boy and the Beast did when it first came out.
