Lego Rolls Out 7 Official One Piece Sets

For years otaku have hoped that Lego would make sets based on their favorite series, and now it’s happening with One Piece! The sets range in difficulty and in prices. Lego has announced sets for The Baratie Floating Restaurant (3402 pieces, aimed for 18+ and $329.99), The Going Merry Pirate Ship (1376 pieces, aimed for 10+ and $139.99), Battle at Arlong Park (926 pieces, aimed for 9+ and $79.99), Buggy the Clown’s Circus Tent (573 pieces, aimed for 8+ and $54.99), and Windmill Village Hut (299 pieces, aimed for 8+ and $29.99). There are also two figure sets: Luffy (136 pieces, aimed for 10+ and $9.99) and Buggy the Clown (176 pieces, aimed for 10+ and $9.99). Let’s take a look!

Lego especially went all-out for The Baratie Floating Restaurant, as seen in the header image. It explained:

“This impressive ship-shaped display set contains several rooms within its interior, including kitchen and dining areas, Zeff’s quarters and the treasure room. Fans can recreate classic scenes and moments with the 10 LEGO minifigures, including Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Zeff, Vice Admiral Garp, Helmeppo, Koby and Mihawk. It also includes five of the famous ‘Wanted’ posters and is the perfect centerpiece to your collection.”

The various sets are available for pre-order and will ship starting August 1.

The Lego characters look based on how they’re portrayed in Netflix. The announcement of the sets come just days after a trailer dropped showing us how Tony Tony Chopper will be portrayed in the live-action adaptation, and shortly after creator Eiichiro Oda shared his thoughts on Chopper’s depiction. The second season of the Netflix series will be here sometime next year.

VIZ Media publishes the manga and gave this description for the first volume:

One Piece Plot

As a child, Monkey D. Luffy was inspired to become a pirate by listening to the tales of the buccaneer “Red-Haired” Shanks. But his life changed when Luffy accidentally ate the Gum-Gum Devil Fruit and gained the power to stretch like rubber…at the cost of never being able to swim again! Years later, still vowing to become the king of the pirates, Luffy sets out on his adventure…one guy alone in a rowboat, in search of the legendary “One Piece,” said to be the greatest treasure in the world…
