Japanese Company Comes Out with Plague Doctor Masks

plague doctorAs the fight against COVID-19 continues, many people are getting more creative with their masks. That’s definitely the case in Japan, where we’ve had everything from samurai masks to My Hero Academia masks, Re:ZERO masks, and even special karaoke masks. But now one Japanese company has looked away from its own history and pop culture and created plague doctor masks.

Stylized after the old masks worn by European physicians, these have a steampunk quality to them and could also be used as morbid cosplay. They’re meant to fit over an actual mask on your face, and they cost 3,960 yen, which is about $37. They’re available for purchase on this Japanese site.
