Golgo 13 creator Takao Saito passed away back in September of last year, but his legacy will live on forever thanks to the success of his most famous series. As revealed in the first volume of the series’ first spinoff manga, Gunsmith Dave, the latest milestone has Golgo 13 hitting 300 million copies in circulation.
The Golgo 13 manga first kicked off in Shogakukan’s Big Comic magazine in 1968, and the launch of its 201st volume in July 2021 broke the Guinness World Record for most volumes published for a single manga series. The Gunsmith Dave manga also launched in the pages of Big Comic Zōkan magazine in July 2021, with Saito Production credited for the work.
The Gunsmith Dave spinoff manga follows Dave, who works behind the scenes to make Duke’s impossible shots hit the mark. A new spinoff manga is set to debut in Big Comic Zōkan‘s August issue this Friday.
