Fans of Hiroya Oku’s Gantz manga will soon be able to read it in a whole new way. The latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced plans to release a full-color, vertical-scrolling version of the series on its vertical manga service Jump Toon. Titled Gantz: T, the series will kick off on July 7, 2024.

The colors in Gantz come via a partnership with SHINE Partners. This release follows closely behind Jump Toon’s launch on May 29, and joins other vertical-scrolling versions of popular manga like Haruichi Furudate’s Haikyu!!. Other titles on the service include Ghost Mikawa’s new Rental Doryoku manga, with more series to launch soon.

Oku originally launched the Gantz manga in 2000 and ended it in 2013. It has inspired anime, live-action films, a CG-animated film, spinoff manga, and an upcoming live-action Hollywood attempt at the material. Dark Horse publishes the Gantz manga in deluxe omnibus volumes, the first of which is described like so:

Tokyo teens Kei and Masaru are killed by a subway train but awaken in a room with an ominous black orb that gives them weapons, suits . . . and orders. Fighting bizarre alien monstrosities in a deadly game, will they win their freedom or die for the final time?
