RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!~
A sequel to Final Fantasy VII?!
Sakura-Con’s Great Revenge?!
Tim Burton invokes the Wrath of the Grudge?!
All that and Why I Suddenly Hate McG in this week’s Friday ACE!
Mike here, delivering a slightly larger scale episode of Friday ACE than usual. Because I’m in the homestretch of preparations of an overhaul of my living quarters, I lost a good portion of production time. Combined how we were THIS close to getting a working Podcast RSS feed for you guys this week, I decided to up the ante a bit this time around, featuring a cameo by one of my co-hosts from R5 Central. Don’t worry, the show won’t get as insane as that one; the allure of Friday ACE is that it’s more content for half the workload! Either way, I hope the mess is somewhat enjoyable.
In the meantime, one of the valiant listeners out there asked about the themes used in the show, specifically the intros. In my organized disorganization, I realized that I’ve been neglecting my duties so let me answer his and your inquiries! Really quick: Our first intro was “ADVICE” by the Pillows, the group best known for their musical contributions to FLCL and for being the Japanese equivalent of The Pixies. The current theme (which I intend to keep for quite some time, as to not create a mess of a revolving door) is Kaela Kimura‘s album-exclusive song, “You bet!!“.
From then on out, it’s various royalty-free tracks, coupled with m-flo’s “Quantum Leap” in the background of 5 In Tune. Finally, the current outro is SOME DAY, ONE DAY, once again featuring m-flo but backing the lovely BoA. Yes, I am an m-flo fan but the whole thing is one giant cosmic coincidence, I swear! In the meantime, go to this Youtube channel here to see them in action if you’ve never had the pleasure. As a matter of fact, Emyli, one of the many artists to collaborate in m-flo’s legendary “loves Era”, appeared in last month’s issue of OUSA! Go check her out!
That’s it for this week. Wow, this message went longer that I’d initially imagined it to be. I’ll see you all next ACE!
-Mike Dent
