The Battle Game in 5 Seconds manga—written by Miyako Kashiwa and illustrated by Saiza Harawata, and also known as Battle in 5 Seconds After Meeting—has its anime adaptation kicking off in Japan on July 12. While we wait for the series to premiere, the first promo and a new visual debuted along with the reveal of more staff and main cast members.
Nobuyoshi Arai (episode director on Banana Fish) is at the helm for this one, with Meigo Naito (Baki storyboards) as chief director, Touko Machida (Wake Up, Girls!) on series composition, and Tomokatsu Nagasaku and Ikuo Yamakamodo on character designs for the SynergySP and Vega Entertainment production, featuring CG animation by Studio A-CAT.
Ayumu Murase is in the lead as Akira Shiroyanagi alongside Aimi as Yuri Amagake, Mayumi Shintani as Mion, Kazuya Nakai as Madoka Kirisaki, Yuichi Nakamura as Shin Kumagiri, Miyuri Shimabukuro as Ringo Tatara, and Akari Kito as Yan.
The opening theme will be Akari Kito’s “No Continue,” and the ending theme will be 15-Sai and Seiko Omori’s “Makeibe Jikkyo Play.”
