Banana Fish Will Receive Stage Play This Summer in Tokyo

Banana Fish Gets AnimeThe manga Banana Fish got stage adaptations in 2005, 2009, and 2012, and it’s getting more in 2021. Today it was revealed that a two-part stage play based on the series will be coming out, with the first part debuting in Tokyo this summer. It’s scheduled to run June 10-20.

Kenta Mizue and Kurumu Okamiya have been cast as Ash Lynx and Eiji Okamura, respectively. Fumiya Matsuzaki, who directed both Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Re:(in)novation and Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Re:Build, will direct both stage plays. Fumi Hatamasa has been tapped to write the scripts and Yasuhiro Ito will be in charge of music.

Banana Fish was also turned into an anime. The manga is released in America by VIZ Media.
