Nagano’s Chiikawa manga depicts the occasionally stressful up and down life of the adorable Chiikawa, who manages to smile even when working hard every day. The next step for the series is an anime adaptation, and a new update is here to reveal the staff, cast, and premiere date.
The Chiikawa anime is set to premiere on April 4, with Takenori Mihara (Lovely Movie: Itoshi no Muco) directing and Shugo Tokumaru composing music for the Doga Kobo production. 10-year-old Haruka Aoki will make her TV anime voice acting debut in the lead role of Chiikawa, while 11-year-old Masato Tanaka (Okko’s Inn) voices Hachiware and Ari Ozawa voices Usagi.
The original manga first started on Twitter as Nanka Chiisakute Kawaii Yatsu, and the Kodansha-published collected volumes will continue when the third is released in Japan on March 23.
