It’s been nice to have Cartoon Network’s anime block Adult Swim on the air, but reports are in that show both the network and the block itself have seen a significant drop in viewership. According to Variety‘s ranking of television network viewership for the past year, Adult Swim dropped 25% to 386,000 viewers in 2021, ranking at #41 on the overall list.
Cartoon Network itself dropped 26% to 201,000, coming in at #72. As Cartoon Brew reported, both have had a major drop since 2014. Adult Swim fell by 71.3% in that time period, while Cartoon Network experienced a 79.3% drop.
As for the top television networks among the 18-49 age range, Adult Swim fell 28%, landing at #20 with 224,000 viewers.
