The two women known by their professional pen name Akira Himekawa sat down for an interview about their The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess manga.
Asked how their manga is different from the video game, we got this answer: “First off, it’s completely different from the get-go. In the game, our heroine, Princess Midna’s true identity is revealed at the end. But in the manga, she appears from the beginning in her true form. That’s because in the beginning, we outline the invading enemies and the crisis this world now faces. By identifying the crisis, we highlight the importance of Link’s role in the story. And Princess Midna is involved in that crisis. That’s why we decided to reveal her true form from the beginning.”
The women share other information on how and why they made the manga the way it is, including why characters were drawn a certain way and the points they want to highlight.
