Detective Conan films always kill it in the Japanese box office, but this year’s likely success story is going to have to wait. The latest anime film to be delayed as a result of COVID-19 (coronavirus) concerns is Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet, which is being postponed indefinitely along with a few other upcoming releases.
Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet was planned for an April 17 release. Other films that were recently delayed include the new Crayon Shin-chan movie, Princess Principal: Crown Handler, and Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] iii.spring song.
Conan manga author Gosho Aoyama tweeted about the postponement with a special message and sketch, which says, “I apologize to everyone, but it’ll be a while until the film is able to be released. It’s a very hard situation, but everyone is doing their best!”
