I don’t know about you, but it’s still kind of hard for me to even picture a live-action One Piece series. Netflix wants you to do just that, though, and the streaming service celebrated the recent birthday of Straw Hat cook Sanji by asking fans who should play him in the adaptation.
The question went out to viewers in eight languages via the official One Piece Netflix Twitter account. Some of the answers given included the likes of Liam Hemsworth, Yosuke Kubozuka, Dacre Montgomery, Gaspard Ulliel, Alex Pettyfer, Takeru Sato, Tomohisa Yamashita, Bradley James, Lucas Till, Cole Sprouse, Eddie Redmayne, Ezra Miller, and many more.
Happy birthday #Sanji!Who are your top 5 picks to play #TheRealSanji? An unknown? A big star? ? In his honor, please answer only with your feet. #OnePiece @NXOnNetflix

The 10-episode first season of One Piece is currently in the works. The show will have Steve Maeda (Lost, The X-Files) as writer, showrunner, and executive producer, and it will be a co-production between Netflix and Tomorrow Studios (Hanna, Snowpiercer, Cowboy Bebop), with physical production handled by Netflix. Other executive producers include Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, as well as series creator Eiichiro Oda.
Since everyone likes to predict stuff like this, who do you think would fit well in Sanji’s flame-kickin’ shoes? Let us know the One Piece cast of your dreams in the comments!
